# Read preferences

The signed-in person's OWN app preferences — the desktop's saved arrangements and settings, each a namespaced key (`setting:theme`, `table:leads`) over a JSON value this service stores opaquely and never reads. `?prefix=` narrows to one namespace. Only the caller's rows are reachable; the workspace-wide defaults under the same keys are `get_workspace_preferences`, and a grid's typed column layout is `get_table-preferences`.

Access class: `workspace`.
