# Write many records' cells at once

Merge cells into many records on one page in a single request — the batch form of PATCH /v1/definitions/:key/rows/:rowId, and what a grid paste, fill-down or cleared selection sends. Body is {rows: [{id, cells: {columnId: text}}]}, at most 1000 rows; each row is merged, so a column a row leaves out keeps what it had, and every record still gets its own notification and activity entry. Answers {updated, failed: [{id, error}]} — a record the rules refuse fails alone and the rest still land.

Access class: `def:read`.
