# Name the vendor for one slot

Seats a vendor in this record's slot for one kind. PUT because a slot has ONE occupant: filling a filled slot replaces it rather than adding a second. The vendor must be OF that kind and must not be retired - an attorney cannot fill the notary slot, and a retired vendor takes no new work.

Access class: `def:read`.
