# Move a deal's status

Move one deal to another status. The STAGE is derived from that status's band and written, never taken from the caller; the stage-entry gate is checked on a crossing and may be skipped with force. Send `cells` to fill what the gate needs in the same transaction, and `reason` to say why - a terminal status asks for one. For a deal that is actually over, use the close route instead: it records the outcome, the reason and the follow-up task with the move.
