# Remove a column from a page

Takes a column off a record page's shape. It is the SHAPE that goes: nothing rewrites the rows' stored cells, and a column added back gets a new id, so the old values are unreachable rather than restored. A column id that is not on this page is a 404. Workspace admin, and there is no archive for a column — to hide one from the default table instead, patch `defaultEnabled` to false.
