# Add a column to a board

Adds one column to a custom board's shape: `label`, a `kind` (text, number, currency, date, select, person, file, formula …) and the per-kind `config` — a select column's choices go in `config.options` as [{label, value?, tone?}], in this same call; a `relation` (record link) takes `config.definitionKey`, which may name any page or any other custom board (its `definitionKey`, `board-…`). Rows already on the board keep the cells they had and are simply empty in the new column. Manage on the board; a pack page's column is `post_definitions_key_columns`.
